Rolex GMT-Master II 116710LN (Reserved)

The perfect example for a watch collector!

Now, the Ref. 116710LN wasn't the first model in Rolex's six-digit generation of GMT-Master II watches. That honor belongs to the Ref. 116718LN, launched in 2005 in solid 18kt yellow gold with either a black or anniversary green dial to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the GMT-Master series. It was followed by the two-tone Rolesor Ref. 116713LN in 2006, before the long-awaited steel version 116710LN was introduced in 2007.

Long awaited 116710LN

However, it was the steel model that enthusiasts were really waiting for. At Baselworld 2007, it debuted Rolex's newly developed Super Case, first introduced in the GMT-Master II series. Although the case diameter remained 40mm, the profile was significantly thicker due to wider lugs and an almost twice as large crown protector. This update was Rolex's response to collectors' desire for larger Professional Collection models, as the trend for larger watches was in full swing at the time.
